Welcome to Rajun Kennels!
I hope you enjoy the photos and can get a sense of the happy and fun off-leash obedience that I can achieve for you and your dog. With over 50 years of experience in dog training, my passion for this work continues to grow. My goal is to make training sessions enjoyable for your dog while achieving happy, animated obedience and good manners.
Compassionate Care for Your Dog
Every dog is a family member, and I treat them with the same compassion. I ensure their stay is as happy and comfortable as possible. Think of their training experience as a fun summer camp—meeting new friends, learning new skills, and setting the foundation for a happier life.
Our Focus: Off-Leash Obedience
My primary focus is family dog off-leash obedience, which includes behavior modification and problem-solving. For dog owners, leaving your pet can be stressful, but I make it easier by regularly sharing updates. On our Facebook page, you’ll find photos, videos of training sessions, and social interactions so you can see the progress in action.
The Program
This is a two-week program, and I only take four dogs at a time to ensure quality attention. I call it a “Two-Week Stay-cation.” It’s fun but disciplined, with plenty of socialization.
What You’ll Gain as a Dog Owner:
- A significant educational leap in understanding your dog.
- Tools to maintain control of your dog’s behavior and decision-making.
- Techniques to establish yourself as the “Pack Leader.”
By following my instructions, you’ll develop an honest, respectful, and loving relationship with your dog.
Training Method
I train using a remote training collar (E-Collar), introduced at the lowest level the dog can feel. The collar serves as a communication tool and is positively reinforced, so dogs are happy to wear it. I recommend the Sports Dog 825x, which sells for under $200 at Lemos Feed. Arrangements can be made for out-of-area clients to pick up the collar.
Once I’ve trained your dog, you’ll have my lifelong support. If you ever need assistance, I’m just a call away.
Boarding
A huge bonus of my program is boarding for dogs I’ve trained. When a dog comes back for boarding, they receive a complimentary brush-up on training. If you have multiple dogs, I can board the others as well. Whether it’s an emergency or a vacation, your dog will enjoy their own getaway.
Scheduling
Since I only take four dogs per session, there’s often a short waiting list. I will get back to you as quickly as I can. If you’re ready to enroll your dog, please send me a text message with the date you’re interested in. My wife, Cindy, can also assist you with most questions and scheduling.
New dogs arrive on Sundays, and owner training/go-home day is two weeks later, on Saturday at noon. Throughout the program, I’ll post updates on my Facebook page, so please check out the videos and photos to see what you’ve been missing.
